Accessability

The digital world becomes tactile

Starting in 2025, the German Accessibility Strengthening Act and the European Accessibility Act will introduce new legal requirements aimed at significantly improving access to products and services for all.
The goal is to ensure equal use for everyone—regardless of physical impairments.

A groundbreaking example of technological inclusion is the new Braille display, the first device to combine Braille text with tactile graphic representation.

People with visual impairments can easily access information using this device. Movable pins on the display surface create detailed tactile representations of visual content—such as maps, diagrams, websites, or apps—which can be directly explored by touch. This is made possible by an AI-based image processor that analyzes visual elements and converts them into tactile graphics. Zooming, panning, inverting, and rotating—it's all possible directly on the device.

Thanks to modern interfaces like USB-C and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0, the device can be connected quickly and easily to a variety of systems. Native support for screen reader software such as VoiceOver on Apple devices is enabled through the AxBrailleMap API.
