NVIDIA Jetson Thor: AI-Powered Real-Time Image Processing in Medical Systems

The AIMB-294 is a high-performance Mini-ITX motherboard designed for demanding AI applications in medical environments. Equipped with the latest NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 and T4000 processors, it combines outstanding computing power with compact dimensions of 170 x 170 millimeters, making it ideal for integration into modern medical devices and imaging systems.

Up to four optical 25-gigabit interfaces as well as GMSL connections enable real-time transmission of high-resolution camera data. The powerful CUDA cores of the NVIDIA Jetson processors deliver up to 2,070 TFLOPS of FP4 inference performance. In combination with the NVIDIA Holoscan SDK, they ensure low-latency processing of camera data. This forms the foundation for AI-powered assistance systems in the operating room, as well as diagnostic systems that analyze imaging data instantly and provide medical professionals with additional decision support. This is particularly important in time-critical applications such as intraoperative image analysis. Support for 4K displays ensures detailed visualization of complex imaging content.

The AIMB-294 also demonstrates flexibility in terms of connectivity and expandability. M.2 interfaces for NVMe SSDs, along with B-key and E-key options for wireless communication, enable the use of 5G or WiFi 7, allowing the board to adapt to various system architectures, for example, in mobile diagnostic systems or compact laboratory devices. This is complemented by high-speed USB 3.2 interfaces, 5-gigabit Ethernet, and additional I/O options.

For reliable continuous operation in sensitive environments, the AIMB-294 is equipped with TPM 2.0 for hardware-based security support and  ESD protection level 4. Moreover it features an extended temperature range.

With its combination of high AI computing performance, real-time image processing, and robust hardware design, the AIMB-294 provides a future-proof platform for medical assistance systems such as imaging diagnostics, robotic applications, and other AI-based healthcare solutions.
